Day Out With Thomas

Today was a great day and Aiden got to see a life size Thomas the train at Roaring Camp Railroads in Felton, CA.  Aiden, Daddy, and Mommy all started the morning with a ride in a covered train car where Aiden was able to sit comfortably and see all the trees and nature out of the window as the train moved along (we were happy to not have to get wet due to all the fog outside).  Thomas music was playing inside of the car and Aiden was very excited for the ride.  “All aboard” and “Tickets please” were 2 phrases he was using consistently and he even got a Jr. Engineer certificate from the staff.

After the ride, we stopped by the bubble station and Aiden was able to make lots of bubbles big and small with some of the other children.  He was having a blast running around with the bubble wand.  We then headed over to the train tables where Aiden had no hesitation about getting right in there and playing with the Thomas trains on the wooden tracks.  A little boy was very nice and shared his train with Aiden when there was no trains available.  I think that Aiden could have stayed there all day long since he was a little upset to have to leave.  However, his hesitation to go was quickly over when he saw one of the big steam trains coming by.   After the train tables, we headed over to the giant air figure of Percy and waited to get Aiden’s picture on it but he really didn’t want to sit so I guess we will have to try that next year.

Since Aiden was getting tired (he was up most of the night before), it was time to leave but on the way out Aiden got a James tattoo and we stopped by the video booth where he was able to watch a fun Thomas video with some of the other kids that were there.   When the movie ended, Aiden was again upset to have to leave but was a great little boy overall.

Daddy, Aiden, and Mommy all headed home from a fun and exciting morning with Thomas and all his friends.  For the next day Aiden was obsessed with all things Thomas.  We are looking forward to next year!!

Measurement Day

So Auntie Dawn and I measured Aiden today and he is now 37inches tall (3 feet, 1 inch)!!  He is growing so much I can't believe how big he has gotten.

After we were done measuring him, he borrowed the tape measure and spent the next 15 minutes measuring all of the marks on the wall.  He even got his crayon and added his own marks to the ones Mommy made (which Mommy said was ok).  He is so excited to try all the things he sees us doing.  I am so proud of him every day!!

New Tooth

So after thinking that Aiden had all his teeth in, he showed me his mouth and low and behold the bottom right molar is only halfway through.  No wonder he has been chewing so much lately and not eating right.  He is being a trooper so hopefully it will break through the rest of the way with minimal discomfort for him.  Been also thinking that it is about time to get him to the dentist for his first ever checkup.  Found out that Dr. Wolkstein, my old dentist, is still in practice along with his son.  I had such a great experience with him that I am going to definitely take Aiden there.

Change Galore

Mommy went back to work today after being home for over a year and we were a little worried about how Aiden would handle the transition.  Much to my delight he took it very well and we have not had one incident that involved tears.  Spending the day with Grandma and still having his sessions has tired him out but in a good way.  He had a great time and didn't want to go home at the end of the day.

I am very blessed that Aiden is such a happy little boy who takes change really well.  He has such an optimistic personality and never dwells on anything negative for long.  I think the transition was harder for Mommy than Aiden!!

I am very excited now for Aiden’s first day of preschool as I can rest easier knowing that I have nothing to worry about.  Though it will be a big change I know my little guy will do great and have a blast.  I know that he is excited to go too as he never wants to leave when we go to visit.
